Monday, after Tripp's bath, I realized two things.  First of all, it was delightfully warm, perfect weather; and also that Tripp would now fit into a cute little onesie I had gotten him on sale ($2...I can't turn down a good deal!)  I had hoped he would be able to wear it a bit longer before the cold came to stay, but since he was so tiny when he was born, it isn't looking good for this outfit.

So, to document how adorable he looked in it, I took pictures (of course!)  I really got this outfit for Daddy, since he loves soccer, as all good foreigners do.

I also realized a third thing...Tripp wasn't too into the camera.  But, like the good mother I am, I forced him to act like he liked it.

Enjoy!

Here is the actual outfit.  Tripp is #28.  Judging from that gut, I'd say he'll be riding the pine for now.

We started out in the gym,

where he did not cooperate.

Until this picture, which he somehow must have sensed wouldn't turn out...

Once we moved to the recliner...well, he still wasn't feeling it.

Finally putting forth a little effort.

I did say a little effort; obviously, not a lot.

Look at those lips!!  Aren't they just the sweetest?!

One of my favorite things in the world is holding hands with my sweetheart.

"Stop it already!  That's enough!!"

When Tripp gave me this look of utter exasperation, I put away the camera.  Poor little guy, no privacy whatsoever!

Hopefully, I'll be able to post some happier pictures soon!

More of our not-so-lazy Sunday

After all of the excitement from our big day, you'd think that Tripp would be exhausted (I know I sure was).  You'd think wrong, of course!  Tripp was much more receptive to playing in the gym this time, so we decided on tummy time next.

Doesn't he look tickled pink?

What a big, strong boy Tripp is!

I think he even impressed himself...

He'll be rolling over in no time!

So proud of that sweet baby boy!

All that hard work finally got to Tripp.  We took a blissful nap in the recliner after this!

If you can't tell by now, I'm completely in love with this sweet little guy!  Every accomplishment is so bittersweet...I'm so proud of how quickly he's advancing, but secretly bummed out that he seems to be growing up so fast.  I love you, Tripp!

Let the fun continue!

After playing in the bouncer and a nice little nap, Tripp was ready for more excitement!  Since Daddy was sleeping after a long night at work, I decided we'd try a quiet session in the gym.

Turns out, Tripp wasn't too into his gym at the moment, so I had to find some other way to entertain him.  For some weird reason, he was pretty content on the floor with his boppy.

This is fun, Mom!

Showing off his serious side...

Throwing up more signs.

I can see we'll have to work on not sticking out our tongues one day...

Oops!  Starting to get a little upset!  I guess he thought it wasn't fair that I was in a comfy recliner and he was banished to the floor.

After all that excitement, Tripp had a small snack and was raring to go again.  Having run out of inside entertainment options, we went for a leisurely Sunday stroll.  Tripp was asleep before we even left the yard, and continued napping for the entire hour and a half!

Sleep well, little angel!

Don't worry, our day wasn't over yet!!  More on that later...

Play with me, Momma!

Tripp is now seven weeks old, and he is growing up so fast!  He is starting to sleep longer at night, and staying up more and more each day, exploring his surroundings as best he can.  This morning, we decided to play in the bouncer, since he had just eaten and tummy time was out of the question.

Tripp is such a happy boy during play time!

I just love seeing his sweet little smiles!

Apparently, I was on my A-game today.  Tripp loved it!

Could there be a cuter little boy?

Tripp says, "No way, Ma!"

I adore how amazed he is by everything...ev-ery-thing!

Is he throwing up gang signs already??  Good Lord, we've got to get this kid out of New Orleans!

"Peace, homey."

Tripp, don't make that face.  You'll get stuck like that.

I guess I got over-the-top with my silliness.

Look at those fat rolls!  Tripp went from 6 lbs. 13 oz. at birth (21st percentile for weight) to 12.2 lbs. at six and a half weeks (79th percentile).  Quite the accomplishment!

"Big is beautiful!"

Confused, again.

The ceiling fan...one of his favorite things to watch!

See?  It's still amazing!

What a joy it is to play with my baby boy!!

Rub a dub dub, Tripp in the tub...

Tripp, like most little boys, was not overly fond of bathing at first.  Of course, this may have to do with the fact that he was five and a half weeks old before he could have something other than a sponge bath; his umbilical cord fell off after 29 days, and we had to wait another week until his circumcision had fully healed.

Now, I won't say he really loves bathing yet, but I can usually get a smile or two out of him during the event.  He's also much happier with a higher water level and for some reason, he enjoys the sensation of water being poured over his head.

During today's bath time, I took some pictures for his future wife to see and subsequently ridicule.  I've made sure that these are PG.  Don't want to get the blog shut down!

This is pre-bath.  From his dubious expression, I'm pretty sure he knows something big is in the works.

Once he was in the tub, he wasn't entirely sure how he felt about the experience being photographed...

Realizing this could be future blackmail material...

"That better be No More Tears, Ma.'

Starting to enjoy it a bit...

"Seriously.  Do you have to take pictures of EVERYTHING?"

There, now!  Rinsed out that shampoo, and he started to get happier!  I missed every smile with the camera, by the way.

Post-smile by one second...

I love this one!  He is definitely plotting something.  Peeing in the bathwater?  The world may never know.

How can he look so innocent just seconds later?

He's just too cute.  No way around it.

Singin' in the shower!

"Ahhhhh!"

I really wish they made these chairs for adults.

The fruits of our labor...

One clean, unhappy baby!
